Tashua Knolls Golf Course is proud to be a member of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program (ACSP) for Golf. This is an education and certification program designed to help golf courses protect the environment, wildlife habitats, and the natural heritage of the game. As Tashua Knolls undergoes our 5 year certification process, we continue to discover new ways the enhance the natural areas of the course and minimize the potential harmful impacts of golf course operations.
Here are a few examples of what we’re doing:
- Leave natural grass areas around ponds untouched to absorb runoff into the ponds. Click here to learn more about the benefits of tall grass on the golf course.
- Testing new organic, eco-friendly compounds to minimize the negative impact of course maintenance.
- Composing a journal of the wildlife inventory on the golf course.
- Tashua Knolls is an active member of the Monarchs in the Rough Program, which is designed to restore declining Monarch habitats in the out-of-play areas of golf courses. See below for pictures of our recently hatched Monarchs!
